On the morning of June 18, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda Department coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Voice of Vietnam to organize a press conference for June 2024.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Lai Xuan Mon; Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh; General Director of the Voice of Vietnam Do Tien Sy; General Director of Vietnam Television Le Ngoc Quang; General Director of Vietnam News Agency Vu Viet Trang; Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam; and representatives of leaders of press agencies in the Central and Hanoi attended the conference. Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang stated that the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day is a very meaningful and important event for the team of journalists. According to the National Press Development and Management Plan until 2025, the press is in a transitional period, so steps need to be taken cautiously. In 2023, Vinh Long Radio and Television Station paid 780 billion VND to Vinh Long, and YouTube paid them 4 million USD in fiscal year 2023, equivalent to 100 billion VND. The Deputy Prime Minister gave an example and said that this is a new way of doing things, a new way of thinking to suit the market economy and solve the problem of transformation. Wishing that in addition to the responsibility from the Government, press agencies must overcome difficulties, the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed: "If we are truly determined, we will do it". On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister sent his best wishes to the press and media agencies to always have a clear mind, bright mind, and full of energy to continue the thorny journey ahead.

At the meeting, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Lai Xuan Mon sent his best wishes to all journalists in our country, continuing the glorious tradition of revolutionary journalism, continuing to contribute, better fulfilling political tasks, contributing to the cause of building and protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland. Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Lai Xuan Mon stated: Looking back on the past 99 years, we have every right to be proud of the important contributions of the press to the cause of building, protecting and developing the country. The press has always been a vanguard force, leading the way and increasingly demonstrating its key role in informing and propagating the Party's guidelines and policies; and the State's policies and laws.
With a glorious tradition of 99 years, especially after 38 years of implementing the Renovation policy, along with the great and comprehensive achievements of the country, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has developed rapidly and remarkably. The team of journalists, accordingly, has also increased rapidly in number with increasingly high professional qualifications and skills, mastering modern journalism technologies... According to Lai Xuan Mon, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, the next stage of the country's construction, innovation and development; the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day is setting a glorious and noble mission for our country's revolutionary press.

To build a "professional, humane and modern press and media" as defined in the 13th National Party Congress document, the press must clearly recognize its role, responsibility and mission to promote and contribute to creating social consensus and great combined strength for the revolution. Each journalist and each press agency needs to promote the glorious tradition that generations of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists have cultivated over the past 99 years, build political courage, uphold social responsibility, civic duty and professional ethics to fulfill their political functions and tasks well, worthy of the Party's trust and the people's expectations. Also at the meeting, representatives of the press agencies heard information on the results of propaganda work last week and plans for the coming time; shared difficulties and obstacles encountered in information and propaganda work. Representatives of the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Journalists Association answered the recommendations; Provide solutions to support the press to develop in the right direction, to best promote the role and mission of the country's revolutionary press.
