The "lonely" pine tree - a famous check-in spot at Hai Van Pass has dried up

(NLDO) - The owner of the tea shop next to the "lonely" pine tree is considering buying another tree to replace it to serve the people and tourists.


The "lonely" pine tree is planted halfway up Hai Van Pass, Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City. For a long time, this has been an attraction for locals and tourists. From the pine tree's position, you can observe the whole view of Da Nang City.

The "lonely" pine tree on Hai Van Pass has dried up and died.

Mr. Dang Van Thang (owner of the Lonely Pine Tree tea shop - opposite the pine tree) said that before Tet, the tree started showing signs of termites at the base. Then, the termites gradually spread and the tree started to lose many leaves.

Mr. Thang called someone experienced in tree care to come to the site to survey and find ways to save the tree, but to no avail.

After Tet, the tree began to lose all its leaves and is now dead. This pine tree was planted by Mr. Thang in 1979. Mr. Thang is currently in contact with another pine tree in the Central Highlands to transport and plant as a replacement.

The leader of the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Bac ward said that he had received the above information and would ask the forest rangers to come up with a plan to replace the pine tree.
