It is known that in 2024, the total value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production in the district will reach 7,510.4 billion VND (2010 comparative price), exceeding the plan by 1.72%, up 6.51% over the same period. Implementing agricultural policies: investing in 36 projects to convert fruit trees with an area of 212 hectares, costing over 3 billion VND; 03 VietGAP models, area of 35.83 hectares/331.2 million VND; 07 projects to produce high-quality rice with a total area of 31.61 hectares/879.1 million VND... With a rice production area of over 21,000 hectares/year, the average yield is 6.275 tons/ha and rice output increased by 12,024 tons over the same period; Fruit tree area 8,149ha/output 279,808 tons, reaching 107.62% of the Resolution (260,000 tons), up 11,177 tons over the same period...
Comrade Pham Thanh Toan, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Cau Ke district, said: in the winter-spring rice crop of 2025, the locality will implement 105 hectares of rice in Hoa An and Phong Phu communes for the first time. In addition, in 2025, the unit is coordinating with communes to implement policies to support production conversion such as: Resolution No. 98/2019/NQ/HDND, dated December 10, 2019 of the People's Council of Tra Vinh province, stipulating the level of support for the development of small-scale irrigation, in-field irrigation and advanced irrigation, saving water in Tra Vinh province, with a total area of nearly 54 hectares, costing over 2.15 billion VND; implementing in-field irrigation work and constructing irrigation works...
Besides focusing on transforming agricultural production, Cau Ke district also focuses on solving employment for rural workers through developing and attracting enterprises, small-scale industrial production facilities and commercial services.
In 2024, Cau Ke district had quite clear results in industrial production development, with a total implementation value of 1,398.8 billion VND, reaching 101.21% of the Resolution, up 16.7% over the same period, of which: the processing and manufacturing industry developed quite well, up 17% over the same period. Attracting and developing 52 new enterprises, reaching 115.56% of the Resolution, bringing the total number of companies and enterprises operating and producing in the district to 202... Total retail sales of goods and service revenue of 8,057 billion VND, reaching 102.16% of the Resolution, up 18.9% over the same period; of which, retail sales of goods increased by 22%, other services increased by 11.8%, accommodation and food increased by 12%, tourism and travel increased by 07%...
In January 2025 alone, the industrial, handicraft, trade and service sectors in Cau Ke area implemented over 1,170 billion VND. Of which, 02 new enterprises were developed (target: 50 new enterprises were established); jobs were created for 395 workers and 12 workers were sent to work abroad (target: 3,500 workers; the number of workers going to work abroad under contract was 130 people)...
Recording the first working days of the year at Van Phuoc Shipbuilding Construction Company Limited (An Phu Tan Commune, Cau Ke District), the working atmosphere of the workers here is quite urgent. At the port receiving ships, there are more than 08 barges, dredging vehicles... with a load capacity of hundreds of tons to several thousand tons being repaired and painted by workers...
According to Mr. Tran Van Phu, representative of Van Phuoc Company: the workshop area is over 1.5 hectares; it can receive 10-12 ships for repair. The means of repair here are from within the province and outside the province such as Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Soc Trang... Currently, there are about 30 workers participating in activities at the ship building and repair workshop; most of the workers have technical skills that have been trained and the income of the workers here is quite stable.
