(NLDO) – After being rescued by the Coast Guard, the health and spirit of the two fishermen who fell into the sea have stabilized.
On March 16, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 announced has directed the authorities to clarify the cause and contact the ship owner and captain.
Previously, while performing patrol, control and law enforcement duties in the Southwest sea, the Forward Command of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command received a report from fishing vessel KG-1320-TS that at around 5:00 a.m. on March 15, the vessel discovered two fishermen missing.
Two fishermen drifted at sea
Two fishermen were rescued on board ship KN-203.
The Coast Guard Region Command's functional forces verified the information and reassured the two fishermen in distress.
After receiving the report from the Forward Command, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 quickly directed the ships performing tasks in the field to increase observation, organize search, and be ready to support rescue.
At 5 p.m. the same day, the Coast Guard ship KN-203 discovered and rescued two fishermen who were drifting at sea. Afterwards, the ship KN-203 sent medical staff on board to check, take care of the health, reassure and encourage the fishermen in distress.
Through verification, the two fishermen both have permanent residence in Dong Thap province, and were working on fishing boat KG-1320-TS when they fell into the sea.
Currently, the health and spirit of the two fishermen have stabilized.
