On January 9, the Ho Chi Minh City Civil Servants' Trade Union held a conference to summarize the activities of civil servants and employees in 2023. Attending the conference were comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Civil - Political - Party Bloc.
In 2023, the City Civil Servants' Union launched a patriotic emulation movement in civil servants, public employees and laborers associated with the 2023 theme of Ho Chi Minh City and the Union organization. From there, it launched emulation movements "Good workers, creative workers", commended "Good people, good deeds" associated with activities to celebrate major holidays, important events in the country, and welcomed the success of the Congress of Trade Unions at all levels for the 2023-2028 term in many rich and diverse forms.
During the 15th Workers' Month, the City Civil Servants' Union organized activities, notably: the "May Dialogue" program with the participation of 300 union members and workers; the Thank You to Workers program, presenting 1,000 gifts (worth 500 million VND) to thank workers for their efforts and efforts in production; organizing the "For Workers' Health" Festival with more than 500 families of union members and workers participating in free eye examinations, health consultations, and blood sugar checks. The City Civil Servants' Union also presented 500 shopping vouchers to union members and workers participating in shopping at union member welfare booths.
In addition, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023, the City Civil Servants' Union organized union welfare programs "Love Fair - Reunion Tet"; "Love Ticket" program; organized 2 programs "Tet Sum Vay - Spring of Gratitude" with special cultural and artistic activities; program "Workers' families enjoy Tet with the city" for families of workers in difficult circumstances who cannot return to their hometowns for Tet; organized a contest to decorate five-fruit trays with the theme "Tet Sum Vay - Nhan Niem Hanh Phuc", "Tet Sum Vay - Nhan Niem Hanh Phuc", Banh Chung and Banh Tet contests, etc.
In addition, grassroots unions also coordinated with businesses to carry out many meaningful programs on the occasion of Tet, taking care of more than 50,000 workers, estimated at more than 25 billion VND.
Not only that, the grassroots unions under the City Civil Servants' Union also regularly organize activities to visit and encourage workers in difficulty. In 2023, the City Civil Servants' Union supported 73 cases of union members and their relatives with serious illnesses, with an amount of VND 923 million from the Union Mutual Support Fund.
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the People - Government - Party Bloc of Ho Chi Minh City, praised the results achieved by the City Civil Servants' Trade Union in the past year. She emphasized that there are still many difficulties in 2024, and requested the City Civil Servants' Trade Union to focus on proposing good solutions to implement the 2024 theme of Ho Chi Minh City "Determination to effectively implement digital transformation and Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly".
Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Dung suggested that grassroots trade unions need to specify action programs; need to improve the quality of good models and solutions, achieve efficiency in 2023, and at the same time replicate them to grassroots trade unions in 2024. In particular, she hopes that grassroots trade unions and the Ho Chi Minh City Civil Servants' Trade Union will have many practical activities in taking care of disadvantaged civil servants, public employees and laborers during the upcoming 2024 Lunar New Year.
On this occasion, 27 collectives received certificates of merit from the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation; 120 collectives received certificates of merit from the City Civil Servants' Trade Union in the movement of excellent workers, creative workers, trade union activities, green and clean movement and "One million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic".
On the same day, the District 1 Labor Federation (HCMC) also summarized the 2023 labor movement. During the 15th Workers' Month, the District 1 Labor Federation supported 415 union members and laborers who had work accidents, serious illnesses, job cuts, and pregnant female union members with a total amount of 200 million VND. The District 1 Labor Federation mobilized the donation of 200 motorbike insurance cards to union members in difficult circumstances.
District 1 Labor Federation also coordinated with Saigon Medical and Pharmaceutical Hospital Joint Stock Company to provide consultation, general health check-ups and free medicine for 500 workers with a total amount of nearly 500 million VND.
