TPO - With a population of nearly 100,000 people (half the population of Hoan Kiem district), Linh Dam Urban Area is planned to have more than 10 parking lots. However, most of these parking lots are currently delayed in implementation, or even transformed, with people's cars being parked on the street or parked in illegal parking lots.

However, most of these parking lots are currently delayed in implementation, or even transformed, with people's cars being parked on the street or parked in illegal parking lots.

To ensure the parking needs of residents in Linh Dam Urban Area, for more than 10 years, Hanoi City People's Committee has planned more than 10 low-rise and high-rise parking lots arranged around apartment buildings in the area.

However, up to now, according to the People's Committee of Hoang Liet Ward, there are only 3 ground parking lots (fenced, roped) for people to watch their vehicles. Including parking lots: Bac Linh Dam, No. 8 Tran Thu Do Street and parking lot at DX3 land on Bang Liet Street.

The capacity of these three parking lots can only meet 5 to 10% of the parking needs of residents in the project area. Regarding the remaining parking lots, the People's Committee of Hoang Liet Ward said that the implementation is slow or has not been completed.

According to Tien Phong reporters' observations of planned and yet-to-be-realized parking lot projects, most of the project land is currently being used at almost full capacity. However, it is not used for parking, or if there is parking, it is only used in parallel with other business activities.

Specifically, at the golden land with the symbol F4T1 in the Southwest Linh Dam area, the entire area of about 4,000 m2 was planned to build a multi-storey parking lot to serve the people but has been transformed.

The entire land and the attached house have the unit name according to the signboard as "Vinh Quang Group Corporation". Although built on the land of the parking lot project, parking only takes place in the middle of the yard with a capacity of more than a few dozen. The construction here is not to serve the high-rise parking lot but to serve commercial activities for many years.

The parking lot area of "Vinh Quang Group" adjacent to Van Tan street and the streets surrounding the parking lot in Linh Dam was "carved up" to make kiosks for rent and sale (photo above); the houses inside were also rented out, and people's cars in the area were parked on the road and sidewalk.

Currently, about 70% of the floor area of the building has been built but is for commercial purposes, office rentals, and kiosks (in the red box).

At land plot C1B9 in Southwest Linh Dam area, it is also planned to be a multi-storey parking lot, but it is currently a spontaneous, unlicensed parking lot.

With the parking lot at DX3 area on Bang Liet street, also a high-rise parking lot project but has been "suspended" for many years, the project site is currently a temporary parking lot, lacking many safety conditions to keep people's vehicles.
