Cam Ly sang with Noo Phuoc Thinh in the live show Tu Tinh Que Huong 6 on August 3.
Specifically, the lowest ticket prices for Cam Ly’s 30th anniversary live show are 400,000 (two areas) or 1 million VND, which is very affordable. The higher prices are only 1.5 million, 2 million and 2.5 million VND.
This price is considered modest compared to Cam Ly's reputation and her large audience. But this price is suitable for the majority of audiences to access.
It was thought that with cheap ticket prices and music familiar to the common people, the live show would be simple in staging and focus on anniversary hits, but Tu Tinh Que Huong 6 surprised everyone with its grand staging and investment, much more than many other shows.
High ticket prices, slow sales or show cancellations
At the end of July, singer Trung Quan finished organizing the 1689 music night in Hanoi after two postponements. Although the show was not full due to slow ticket sales, it did not "cancel the show".
The reason for the slow ticket sales is because this is the second year in a row that Trung Quan has held a solo show, and the program does not have much of an organizational difference compared to last year's live concert 1589. Trung Quan's song list also has no major changes.
Another reason is that the ticket prices are quite high. The lowest price is 1 million VND, the highest is 4 million VND. Other prices are 1.8 million, 2.2 million, 2.7 million, 3.3 million VND.

Also celebrating 30 years of singing like Cam Ly, Ha Tran had to cancel the show in Ho Chi Minh City with about 2,000 tickets and in Hanoi with about 3,000 tickets because the venue was large and the ticket prices were high. The highest price was 4.8 million, the lowest was 1.2 million VND. Other prices were 1.8 million, 2.5 million, 3.8 million and 4.2 million VND.
Cam Ly sells traditional hard tickets to suit her audience, Ha Tran and her team chose to only send QR codes - a new form and somewhat not suitable for her long-time audience.
When canceling the show on July 29, Ha Tran also announced that she would refund tickets and give gifts to the audience as an apology.
Before Ha Tran's show, another program also announced its cancellation, the Just Rock Music Festival on July 29 in Phan Thiet.
The reason is that the event only sold very few tickets (the price was only 350,000 VND), and did not have enough funds to take place. Previously, the event was interested because of the return of artist Hai Bot.
Announced cancellation on July 18, on August 2, Just Rock organizers announced that they had successfully sold 60% of tickets, and apologized to audiences who had not received refunds.
The reason Just Rock did not take place as expected was because the number of fans was not large enough and the venue was in a different locality than Ho Chi Minh City - where this live show took place in March.

Meanwhile, another singer canceled his show due to health reasons. Tang Phuc announced the cancellation of the From here... From now... Music Tour in Ho Chi Minh City on August 4, because a few weeks before the show he was continuously sick and had to be hospitalized, but still had to participate in filming the show Anh trai vu ngan cong gai. At times he had to "escape the hospital" to go out to film the performance.
Tang Phuc's manager said the two shows From Here... From Now... in Da Lat on September 1 and Hanoi on September 14 will still take place.
How profitable is Vietnamese live show?
For a long time, the profit figures from organizing music shows in Vietnam have often not been made public, considered a business secret, while the box office revenue of the Vietnamese film market has an independent statistical unit for reference (Box Office Vietnam) or producers proactively make it public if the film is profitable.
Without knowing the profit and loss situation of live shows, the media and audiences can only base on whether the live show is held or canceled, whether the audience is large or not, whether the audience cheers enthusiastically or not, whether there are many sponsoring businesses or not... to evaluate the success of Vietnamese live shows and live concerts.

Evaluation based on those factors is still subjective, without clear data. Profit and loss is still only known to insiders.
There are show organizers who confidently declare "Don't do shows if there's no profit", but there are also people in the industry who admit "Doing a private live show is mostly accepting a loss, only gaining fame, the singer will run shows to make up for it later".
However, this confidence is only found in singers who are really in demand or have high salaries.
When announcing the live concert 1689 , Trung Quan half-jokingly said that his manager might have to sell the 2,000m2 villa in Hue to make the show. He also admitted that the live concert 1589 in 2023, although selling tickets well, would not make a profit.
Mr. Ha Thanh Phuc, the person behind the show organizer for both Ha Tran and Trung Quan, shared about this unfortunate incident: "Too many unforeseen events happened that my finances were no longer enough...
Because this concert game can't make money or profit, it's just a very valuable experience that I want to have and dream of in my career."
After Ha Tran's show was canceled, there were many analyses of the reasons online and in the press. Some articles even questioned where the audience of long-time singers like her were, because their idols, although having many achievements, were from a distant time, and had no new outstanding activities or hits recently.
