In the shooting of the former US President, the suspect was a man with a rifle who fired at Mr. Trump during a campaign rally on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. The suspect was killed.
US Secret Service spokesman Anthony Gugliemi later told X that "the former President is safe" after more than a dozen gunshots were heard.
Advisers to former President Trump said he was "well" and "looking forward" to attending the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee next week.
In several statements, Mr Trump himself said he was “fine” after a bullet hit his “upper right ear”.
A law enforcement source and a police officer at the scene told CNN that the shooter was located on the roof of the building just outside the venue where former President Trump was holding his campaign rally.
The source said the building was also where CNN observed a heavy police presence. The building was located to the right of the former president as he took the stage to speak.
