New step for Vietnam golf tourism

According to the memorandum, it is expected that the National Tourism Administration will preside over and coordinate with the Department of Sports and Physical Training and Company 54 Vietnam to organize the International Golf Conference in Thua Thien Hue (World Golf Summit in Vietnam) on the occasion of the National Tourism Year 2025. In addition, the cooperation document also states the task of developing details and implementing a rating system for domestic golf courses; proposing strategies, ideas and planning to attract resources and organize international sports events in Vietnam.

This action program aims to help the country's golf tourism sector develop sustainably and fully exploit its existing potential. Up to now, golf has been present in Vietnam for 100 years, with about 100 courses in operation, and the country has been honored eight consecutive times as "Asia's Best Golf Destination" and twice as "World's Best Golf Destination" at the World Golf Awards.

Meanwhile, Director of the National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh said that by 2024, Vietnam's tourism will fully recover to the level before the Covid-19 pandemic, and is expected to welcome about 17-18 million international visitors and serve about 110 million domestic visitors, achieving the set target and being a bright spot in the country's socio-economic picture. According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, golf tourism is a new type of economy with high economic value, which has been included in the long-term development strategies and plans of the tourism industry.

Leaders of the National Tourism Administration and the Department of Sports and Physical Training and representatives of 54 Vietnam Company completed the signing of the cooperation agreement.

Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training Dang Ha Viet hopes that partner 54 Vietnam will soon bring top golf tournaments to Vietnam, thereby building the image of the country's sports, making an important contribution to the country's economic development.
