Quick, resourceful, dedicated to work, exemplary in leading movements and activities in the locality, actively encouraging elderly female members to participate in building a cultured, prosperous and happy family. That was the first impression when we met and talked with Ms. Phan Thi Nhung, Head of the Women's Association of An Phong village, An Ninh commune, Binh Luc district, Ha Nam province.

To make the Association's work effective, every month she organizes the Association's activities well, integrating the dissemination of the Party's Resolutions, the State's policies and laws, the Association's emulation movements, especially implementing the campaign to build "Family of 5 no's and 3 clean's" to contribute to building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas.
With the determination to bring An Phong village in particular, An Ninh commune in general to soon reach the advanced NTM finish line, she advised the village collective to mobilize the people, businesses in the area, and children of the hometown who are studying, working and working in all regions of the country, to donate and support the construction of cultural works and infrastructure of the village such as building village roads, planting and caring for shade trees, flower roads to create a green, clean and beautiful environment.
Along with that, she also organized the launch of the waste classification and composting club, supported bins and yeast for members to easily implement; mobilized members and people to build roads, hang flags, light up the village, repair 3 cultural houses, and raised 540 million VND... "The joy every day is to witness the changes in women's lives, to see the solidarity, love, and sharing of members with women and people in difficult circumstances, as well as the consensus and agreement of members to participate in implementing the major policy of building advanced new rural areas", said Ms. Phan Thi Nhung.
Furthermore, she actively participates in local cultural, artistic and sports movements. She encourages members to maintain daily physical exercise to improve their health; at the same time, she organizes cultural and sports exchanges with other Women's Associations and Elderly Associations in the whole commune...
On the occasion of the anniversary of the Vietnam Elderly Association (May 10), the Vietnam Elderly Traditional Day (June 6), the International Elderly Day (October 1) and the Action Month for the Vietnam Elderly, she coordinated with the Village Elderly Association to visit and give gifts to female members, elderly people in difficult circumstances, elderly women without support, disabled children, and orphans in the area.
Not only is she a dynamic and responsible Women's Union official, with many contributions to the movement to build advanced rural areas and model rural areas, Ms. Nhung is also known as one of the elderly women who actively participate in building harmonious, happy and prosperous families in the locality.
For Mrs. Nhung, raising children together is extremely important for a happy family. Ever since the children were young, the couple taught them good things, right things, and moral standards in society. On the other hand, the couple's children always trained them to be self-conscious in studying, persistently tutoring and correcting them so that their studies would be in order. The grandparents always shared and confided in their children so that they could see the hardships of their parents, and soon have the awareness to overcome difficulties and strive to improve themselves in life. Mrs. Nhung confided: "Up to now, the children have grown up, got married, have stable jobs, and their husbands and wives live in harmony and happiness, which is also a joy and a great source of encouragement and comfort for my husband and I as we enter our "old age".

In the near future, she will be honored to be elected by the Ha Nam Provincial Elderly Association and the Provincial Women's Union to attend the National Conference to honor outstanding elderly women who build cultural, prosperous, and happy families, and will be awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.
