(NLDO) - Four middle school students in Gia Lai were injured after a loud explosion, suspected to have been caused by homemade fireworks.
On January 3, four students involved in an explosion suspected to have been caused by making fireworks are being treated at medical facilities in Gia Lai province.
According to initial information, V.D.P (15 years old, 9th grade student, Pham Hong Thai Secondary School) ordered materials online to make fireworks at home. On the afternoon of January 1, P. invited 3 6th grade students, neighbors (all 12 years old) to his house in Doch Ia Krot village, Ia Krai commune, Ia Grai district, Gia Lai province to make fireworks together. During the process of making fireworks, an explosion occurred.

After hearing a loud explosion, people nearby ran out to see and discovered that all four children were injured and taken to medical facilities for emergency treatment.
Of these, 2 children were taken to Gia Lai Provincial Children's Hospital with a broken left leg; soft tissue damage to the right leg; a part of the back had slightly peeled skin; and damage to the right ankle.
The other two children were taken to Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital for treatment with minor injuries to their arms and legs.
The scene of the incident was in disarray, authorities discovered many blood stains and some items suspected to be used to make fireworks.
After the above incident, the People's Committee of Ia Krai commune, Ia Grai district visited and encouraged the children and their families.
