According to statistics from Box Office Vietnam (an independent box office monitoring unit), as of the evening of January 30 (the second day of the Lunar New Year), The Four Guardians achieved a revenue of 80 billion VND.

The distributor representative said that on the first day of release (January 29), the film sold 330,000 tickets, earning 30 billion VND. This number helped The Four Guardians break the first-day revenue record in the history of Vietnamese films. Previously, this record was held by the film Mai (23.3 billion VND).
The film is also the fastest film to reach the 50 billion VND revenue mark in the history of Vietnamese cinema (1 and a half days).
The film crew also confirmed that The Four Guardians had 129,000 pre-booked tickets, breaking the record for the film with the highest number of pre-booked tickets ever, set by Lat Mat 7 (105,000 pre-booked tickets).
Director Tran Thanh expressed his joy when his work achieved an impressive opening: "It's beyond imagination. I thank you very much. This is also a difficult record for me, I wonder if I can surpass this number next year?".

The four defenders dominated in terms of revenue and screenings compared to two rivals in the Tet film race, Love by Mistake with a Best Friend (co-directors Diep The Vinh and Nguyen Quang Dung) and Billion Dollar Kiss (director Thu Trang).
According to Box Office Vietnam, on January 30 alone, The Four Guardians earned about 38 billion VND, with 5,900 screenings. This figure was 4.8 billion VND for The Billionaire Kiss (1,800 screenings) and 1.6 billion VND for The Wrong Best Friend (1,100 screenings).
By the end of the second day of Tet, The Billionaire Kiss earned more than 9 billion VND while Love by Mistake with a Best Friend earned 3.3 billion VND. Some other foreign films such as Paddington: The Traveling Bear, The Thousand-Pound Heist ... also did not have significant revenue in the Tet box office race.
According to the founder of Box Office Vietnam, The Four Guardians currently accounts for 80% of the Tet movie revenue market. If it maintains the ticket sales speed as in the first two days, The Four Guardians has a good chance of surpassing Mai to become the Vietnamese movie with the highest revenue in history.
"In the Vietnamese market, a well-invested and promoted film shown during Tet usually has a total revenue of 20-22 times the revenue on the first day of Tet. This is true for Mrs. Nu's House, Mai, Meet again with the boss, Chi Chi Em Em 2... If this model continues to be maintained, The Four Guardians is completely capable of reaching the 600 billion VND mark," said Box Office Vietnam.

Despite dominating the Tet movie race and having "huge" revenue right from the opening, Tran Thanh's film still encountered some controversy. Some people said that director Tran Thanh regressed professionally in this film when the script and characters were monotonous, not creating a word-of-mouth effect like Mai or Nha Ba Nu.
In an interview with Dan Tri reporter, Tran Thanh said revenue is an important criterion because it is the motivation for him to continue making future films.
However, Tran Thanh is not too pressured, focusing too much on achievements, box office records or "big issues" with The Four Guardians. The male artist affirmed that he made this film with the desire to create light, relaxing laughter for the audience.
The Four Guardians is a comedy, written and directed by Tran Thanh. The film revolves around the love story between Quynh Anh (played by Tieu Vy) and Quoc Anh (played by Quoc Anh). Their relationship gradually cracks when the rich woman Karen (played by Ky Duyen) appears.
Quynh Anh's relatives such as Aunt Bon (played by Le Giang), Kieu (played by Uyen An), Jessica (played by Le Duong Bao Lam) and Uncle Muoi Mot (played by Tran Thanh) plot to help her and her boyfriend reconcile, thereby causing tragicomic events.
