The Ministry has proposed establishing a nationwide fake news handling network, connecting localities with the National Fake News Handling Center. To date, 16 provinces and cities have established fake news handling centers, contributing to improving the capacity to control harmful information.
The Ministry promotes propaganda programs to help people gain awareness and resistance against false information in cyberspace.
In the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications will continue to implement drastic solutions, including upgrading cyberspace monitoring centers. Strengthening the operational efficiency of the National Cyberspace Monitoring Center and the Fake News Processing Center. At the same time, guiding localities to build fake news processing centers to form a nationwide network.
Strengthen coordination between ministries, sectors and localities to manage information on social networks according to the principle that "whoever manages a field in the real world must manage that field in cyberspace".
The Ministry will continue to provide timely information to the press, improve propaganda effectiveness, especially on issues of public concern, to orient public opinion positively and effectively.
Despite many positive results, the process of handling toxic information still faces many difficulties. Major social media platforms are often not headquartered in Vietnam, making it difficult to implement management measures. The constant development of technology makes the dissemination of false information increasingly difficult to detect and handle.
With perseverance and determination, the Ministry of Information and Communications has been and will continue to play a proactive role in managing cyberspace, protecting people from the negative impacts of bad and toxic information. This is not only the responsibility of the Ministry but also requires the cooperation of ministries, branches, localities and the entire community to build a healthy, safe and sustainable cyberspace./.
