On the morning of November 12, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan had an additional 55 minutes to answer questions from National Assembly deputies on a group of issues in the health sector.
At the end of the question-and-answer session on the afternoon of November 11, 8 National Assembly deputies questioned the commander of the health sector.
Delegate Trang A Duong (Ha Giang) reflected on the current situation that challenges the State management agencies in the health sector when many companies, investors, and private clinics were administratively sanctioned, fined, and temporarily suspended for 3-4 months, then declared to be dissolved and then established a new company, opened another clinic with the same management staff and medical staff as the previous clinic, even operating at the same location with a completely different and new name. He wanted the Minister to propose a solution to completely resolve the above situation.

Delegate Luu Van Duc (Dak Lak) questioned the commander of the health sector about the widespread sale of cosmetics and functional foods on the market, especially in ethnic minority areas and remote areas, seriously affecting people's lives and health, and potentially affecting social order and security.
“As a State management agency, what is the management responsibility of the health sector? What solutions does the Ministry have to overcome this in the coming time?”, the delegate asked and sent this content to the Minister of Information and Communications.
Delegate Ho Thi Minh (Quang Tri) asked about management responsibilities and wanted to hear the Minister of Health's commitment to ending the situation where most pharmacies do not have pharmacists and prescription drugs without prescriptions are still sold widely.
Delegate Trinh Thi Tu Anh (Lam Dong) questioned the fact that some businesses do not declare the products they produce and trade, leading to the products not being post-inspected and potentially not being safe. She wanted to know the Minister's solution to solve this problem.
Delegate Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh (HCMC) questioned how to strengthen inspection and examination of the production and trading of functional foods, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics in the context of the Government's drastic streamlining of staff, because the current human resources are thin and insufficient to do this work.
Delegate Phan Thi My Dung (Long An) reflected that the abuse of functional foods can cause allergic reactions, disrupt the body's assimilation and metabolism due to excess intake of nutrients. Even patients who use functional foods incorrectly or unreasonably will lose the golden time for treatment.
"Minister, please tell us what is the fundamental and effective solution so that people can understand correctly and fully about functional foods to know how to use them correctly and effectively?", the female delegate asked.
Delegate Tran Van Sau (Dong Thap) asked about the responsibility of the Minister of Health in proposing policies for medical staff in the fierce fight against epidemics or natural disasters.
Delegate Pham Khanh Phong Lan (HCMC) when questioning the Minister of Health commented that “all three pillars of the health sector including prevention, treatment and supply are facing many difficulties”. She asked the Minister about breakthrough solutions to remove bottlenecks, for example the persistent shortage of drugs.
“Patients who lack medicine have had to buy their own health insurance in the past and up to now there has been no action from the authorities to compensate for this cost,” Ms. Lan raised the issue.
The female delegate also asked, “When will the Ministry have an official summary of the socialization model of medical examination and treatment facilities to truly increase the autonomy of the facilities, not just cut down on budget spending? What is the Minister fighting for to increase the investment budget for the health sector?”
Regarding prevention, she asked about the income of medical staff and the status of their resignations. "If the epidemic returns, will the health sector be confident in responding?", a delegate from Ho Chi Minh City questioned the female Minister.
