According to the leader of Tan Quy Tay Commune People's Committee (Binh Chanh District), after being in a firecracker accident, HTTT (5 years old, living in Tan Quy Tay Commune) was taken by his family to the Children's Hospital (HCMC) to treat his injuries (left hand dislocation).
The baby's health has improved and his mental state is stable, so the family has discharged him from the hospital to continue taking care of him at home.
According to the leader of Tan Quy Tay Commune People's Committee, before Tet, Tan Quy Tay Commune Police went to businesses and households to propagate, mobilize, and have people sign a commitment to use fireworks in accordance with the law, so the situation of setting off fireworks in 2024 has changed positively.
However, a few people are still not aware of the dangers caused by fireworks, specifically the accident caused by fireworks at an address in Tan Quy Tay commune that injured baby T.'s hand.
Baby T. was transferred to the City Children's Hospital for emergency care on the afternoon of the third day of Tet (February 12).
Medical history showed that while T. was playing in front of his house, the neighbor set off fireworks. Then T. picked up a firecracker in the yard, which exploded and injured his left hand.
At the hospital, doctors noted that T.'s left hand was crushed and the left side of his abdomen had soft tissue damage. In addition, the victim's right thigh was burned black about 3x2cm due to flying firecracker fragments.
The emergency doctor cleaned the wound on the left side of the abdomen and right thigh. However, because the left hand was crushed, the doctor could not stitch and restore it, so it was amputated.
