In an article titled "Vietnam's Development Over the Years and Its Achievements" recently published, Uruguay's Diario LaR newspaper emphasized that throughout its history, Vietnam has undergone a process of social development with remarkable cultural changes. The Uruguayan newspaper highlighted Vietnam’s economic growth in recent decades, which has had a significant impact on the country’s urbanization. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have seen rapid population growth, with a wave of migration from rural to urban areas in search of employment and education opportunities.
According to Diario LaR , education is a fundamental factor in Vietnam's social transformation. The Vietnamese government has invested in expanding public education and improving access to higher education, contributing to the development of a highly skilled workforce, increasing social mobility and the emancipation of women. In recent decades, there has been significant progress in the emancipation of women in Vietnam. Women have increasingly gained a higher status in society through active participation in the workforce, as well as in political and cultural activities.
In terms of cultural changes, although many traditions and customs are maintained, Vietnam is still influenced by many other cultures, creating a unique cultural exchange. Globalization has significantly impacted Vietnamese culture, including new technology, fashion trends and lifestyles. Vietnamese youth have absorbed elements of global culture while still preserving their traditional cultural roots.
Social development and cultural changes in Vietnam reflect the resilience and creativity of its people throughout history, Diario LaR emphasized.
