Ton Duc Thang Museum begins serving visitors from July 25

On the morning of July 22, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai and delegates respectfully offered incense and flowers in memory and performed the installation ceremony of the Memorial Room of President Ton Duc Thang.

The event was organized by Ton Duc Thang Museum in coordination with the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Civil and Industrial Works of Ho Chi Minh City.

This is an activity to celebrate the 136th anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang's birthday (August 20, 1888 - August 20, 2024); to arouse national pride, faith in the Party, honor the image of President Ton Duc Thang and inaugurate the project "Construction of the new Ton Duc Thang Museum" - a multi-functional, comprehensive, modern, typical cultural and educational institution of the City, best meeting the needs of serving the public.

According to the plan, the Museum will organize activities to visit, offer flowers and incense to President Ton Duc Thang from July 25.

Ton Duc Thang Museum was established to commemorate the 100th anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang's birthday (August 20, 1888 - August 20, 1988).

After 32 years of operation and degraded facilities, in October 2020, the City started construction of the project "Construction of a new Ton Duc Thang Museum" including 1 basement and 4 floors with a height of 20m, a construction area of over 1,700m2, and a total floor area of over 8,551m2.

Director of Ton Duc Thang Museum Pham Thanh Nam said that the construction of the new museum aims to meet the requirements of renewing museum activities, creating new exhibition spaces, expanding the storage area, and displaying special topics about President Ton Duc Thang as well as other related historical and cultural topics...

The new project is worthy of educating the tradition about the great contributions of President Ton Duc Thang to the cause of fighting for national independence and world peace, and at the same time, is consistent with the development orientation, upgrading the museum to a type 1 museum of history and commemoration of famous people in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is also a museum that uses advanced, synchronous, energy-saving, environmentally friendly technology and equipment, ensuring economic efficiency in operation, maintenance, maximum use of functions, and the most convenience for museum operations and public service./.
