The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Ha Nam province visited and wished the province a Happy New Year.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, on the morning of January 31, the working delegation of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ha Nam province led by Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet - Standing Member of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ha Nam province, together with the Venerables and Venerables of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ha Nam province, visited and wished the province a Happy New Year.

Receiving and working with the delegation were comrades: Dinh Thi Lua, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Tran Thi Ngan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Anh Chuc, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Also attending were the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee Office; leaders of the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council; and leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

On behalf of the delegation, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet expressed his joy and excitement about the rapid and strong development of Ha Nam province in all fields. At the same time, he shared with the provincial leaders and delegates about the activities, development and contributions of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Ha Nam Provincial Buddhist Association to the common socio-economic development of the province; efforts to build the great national unity bloc; accompanying the Party Committees, authorities at all levels and the masses to join hands in building the province.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Dinh Thi Lua, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, respectfully thanked Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet, the Venerable Monks and Venerable Monks in particular, and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Ha Nam province in general for their affection for the province. At the same time, she quickly reported to the delegation some outstanding results in implementing the province's socio-economic development tasks in 2023.

Accordingly, in 2023, despite many difficulties, the Party Committee, government, army and people of the whole province united and made efforts to gradually overcome difficulties; achieved important and comprehensive results in the fields of socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security; focused on building the Party, building a clean and strong political system; improving the quality of activities of the People's Council, management and operation of the People's Committee, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations.

In 2023, the province's socio-economic situation will remain stable and develop, with a growth rate of 9.41%, ranking 5th in the Red River Delta and 8th in the country; State budget revenue will exceed the set plan; industry, trade and services will have good growth. The program of building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas will be effectively implemented, with over 50% of communes in the province meeting advanced new rural and model new rural standards. Implement the Ha Nam Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, striving to build a rich, civilized Ha Nam province by 2030, striving to achieve a fairly good level of development in the Red River Delta; by 2050, Ha Nam will become a centrally-run city, a smart, modern urban area; a prosperous economy associated with environmental protection; Ha Nam people will develop comprehensively.

Along with that, the province's cultural and social fields in 2023 continued to have many positive changes; Ha Nam was honored by the World Tourism Awards as "The World's Leading Local Cultural Destination"; successfully organized the Ha Nam - Japan Cultural Festival; continued to be a province in the top of the country in education. The security and defense sector also had many important marks when the province successfully organized the provincial defense area exercise; maintained political security and social order and safety; was the first province in the country to complete 100% of the target of issuing electronic chip-embedded citizen identification cards.

The province's foreign affairs and investment promotion activities have also achieved many positive results, contributing significantly to introducing investment attraction policies as well as the province's potential and strengths and enhancing the effectiveness of directly calling for and signing cooperation agreements with foreign partners. In 2023, Ha Nam attracted 35 newly-registered FDI investment projects in industrial parks in the province, with a total investment capital of 549 million USD (equal to 156% compared to the same period in 2022).

Social security work has been well implemented; taking care of and giving gifts to support the poor on the occasion of Lunar New Year so that no one is left behind, everyone can have a happy New Year; there are many mechanisms and policies for vocational training, job creation for workers... contributing to reducing the poverty rate of the province in 2023 to 2.11%.

With the results achieved in all areas of social life in 2023, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed that there were significant contributions from religions in the province - especially the Venerables, monks, nuns, Buddhists and people. In order to successfully implement the political goals and tasks in 2024, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hopes to continue to receive the support and contributions of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ha Nam province to join the province in building a clean and strong Party organization, government and political system; contributing to building Ha Nam province to be increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
