Handing over breeding cows to poor households in Gia Thang commune

Việt NamViệt Nam10/08/2023

On August 10, in Gia Thang commune, Gia Vien district, breeding cows were handed over to households participating in the Project on diversifying livelihoods and developing poverty reduction models under the National Target Program on Poverty Reduction in 2022 in the district.

On this occasion, 9 poor and near-poor households in Gia Thang commune were given 9 crossbred breeding cows. Each cow weighs 200 kg or more and has been fully vaccinated. Before receiving the breeding cows, the households were trained by experts on breeding techniques, how to build barns, and how to treat some common diseases in cows.

The donation of breeding cows aims to support production materials and create livelihoods for poor, near-poor and newly escaped-poverty households to develop their economy and stabilize their lives; helping the commune complete the criteria for building advanced new rural areas.

Up to now, Gia Vien district has donated more than 100 breeding cows to more than 100 poor and near-poor households from the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, creating conditions for households to have more income, contributing to poverty reduction and stabilizing their lives.
