(NADS) - On June 28, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of An Giang province in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Book Street organized the art photo exhibition "Colors of An Giang", taking place from June 28 to 30, 2024.
With 100 outstanding works selected from thousands of works created by An Giang photographers over the years, photography lovers will enjoy vivid and beautiful images of An Giang Land and People with a rich history, from the past, present connecting to the future.
These are the works, the land names, the village names that mark the time when our ancestors opened up new lands, the movements of green rice shoots, the movements of works reaching new heights during the period of industrialization, modernization and international integration, the roads connecting the traffic arteries...
The exhibition also introduces to the public the green Tra Su cajuput forest, the rows of palm trees on the fields covered in blue smoke in the afternoon, as beautiful as a painting; the compassionate, peaceful smile of Maitreya Buddha on the top of Thien Cam Son, towering over the land and sky of the South...
According to artist Bui Quang Vinh, Chairman of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of An Giang province, An Giang is the headwater province of the Mekong Delta, a land where many ethnic groups and religions intersect, with forests, mountains, rivers, the rice granary of the Mekong Delta and the whole country, and the homeland of beloved Uncle Ton.
This is also a land containing many unique cultural sediments, cultivated by the efforts of the Kinh, Hoa, Cham, Khmer ethnic communities over the past hundreds of years..., both rich and diverse, very An Giang and also very Southern. That land has produced many generations of talented artists, making many important contributions to the overall development of the country's cultural and artistic scene.
Currently, An Giang has more than 80 members participating in the Photography Association (Union of Literature and Arts Associations of An Giang province), including 30 members of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists currently participating in the An Giang Photographic Artists Association 1 and An Giang Photographic Artists Association 2, with many works winning high prizes in national and international photography competitions.
The exhibition is an opportunity for photographers from Uncle Ton's hometown to meet, exchange and learn more about the art of photography with colleagues in the city named after Uncle Ho; thereby, promoting the image of the homeland and people of An Giang, a beloved land in the southwestern border of the Fatherland, closer to the public near and far.
