Sitting in the hall attending the meeting between the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and outstanding farmers and typical cooperatives nationwide, Mr. Tong Van Huong - Head of the Billionaire Farmers' Association of Binh Duong province and Mr. Nguyen Van Tien - Vice Head of the Billionaire Farmers' Association of Binh Duong province attentively watched with eyes filled with pride.
On the red carpet of the stage, two billionaire farmers of Binh Duong, Mr. Nguyen Huynh Thanh - Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer of 2024 and Mr. Le Minh Sang - Director of Tan My Fruit Tree Cooperative, were congratulated and awarded Certificates of Merit by the leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.

Sharing with Dan Viet reporter, Mr. Tong Van Huong happily said: "We, the 8-member Association, flew from Binh Duong to Hanoi to encourage and motivate the spirit and share the joy with 2 members of the Association, Mr. Nguyen Huynh Thanh, who was honored as an Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer in 2024 and Mr. Le Minh Sang, who was recognized as a typical cooperative nationwide in 2024. Sharing about the Billionaire Farmers Association of Binh Duong province, Mr. Tong Van Huong excitedly said: "Our association has 65 members, these are the strongest billionaire farmers in Binh Duong. 90% of the association members are excellent farmers, good farmers in production and business, typical farmers of Binh Duong province".

When asked if they paid for this trip to Hanoi out of their own pocket or were supported by the Binh Duong Farmers' Association, Mr. Huong and Mr. Tien burst out laughing, typical of generous Southern brothers.
"We, the members of the Billionaire Farmers Association, are all rich. The member with the highest income in the association earns more than 100 billion VND/year, while the lowest income is about 6 billion VND/year. On this trip to Hanoi, we don't need to worry or calculate about money," Mr. Huong said with a smile.

Mr. Tong Van Huong added: After attending the ceremony to honor outstanding Vietnamese farmers and typical cooperatives nationwide, we will go to Lao Cai to carry out volunteer work, supporting farmers affected by storm No. 3 and recent floods.
"In September 2024, members of the Billionaire Farmers Association of Binh Duong province directly went to the northern mountainous provinces and contributed more than 400 million VND in cash and goods. This is the sentiment and heart of the Billionaire Farmers Association of Binh Duong province sent to the people in the flood areas" - Mr. Huong shared.
Expecting innovation from the Forum Listening to Farmers Speak
Mr. Tong Van Huong added: Along with encouraging and motivating the brothers in the Billionaire Farmers Association of Binh Duong province to increasingly develop production and business, the association members also asked the Standing Committee of the association to go to Hanoi this time to closely follow the actual situation, listen to the opinions expressed and shared at the National Farmers' Forum in 2024. Especially to orient the policies of the Party, State, Government, Vietnam Farmers' Association, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on agricultural, farmer and rural development.

"We, the Billionaire Farmers Association of Binh Duong province, have high expectations for the innovation of the 2024 National Farmers' Forum chaired by the President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Le Minh Hoan, to listen to farmers speak. When we return to Binh Duong, we will convey and string together to work with the members of the association to "solve the difficult problem" of the province's agricultural sector," Mr. Tong Van Huong shared.
According to Mr. Tong Van Huong, the general picture of agricultural production in Binh Duong province today is the application of high technology to farms. Farmers in Binh Duong province adapt quickly to the process of industrialization and modernization in the locality.
"Like the Binh Duong Billionaire Farmers Association, we have a total area of citrus fruit trees and specialty fruit trees of over 1,000 hectares; a high-tech melon production area of over 50 hectares; and a total herd of high-tech livestock of over 1 million.
Our members of the Billionaire Farmers Association all have large agricultural production and business models, some members have an area of 100 hectares. To build high-tech agricultural models in cultivation and animal husbandry, farmers have had to invest a very large amount of capital, some households have invested hundreds of billions of VND. Therefore, "capital" is one of the difficult problems that need to be solved. We really hope to have the most preferential loan support policy possible to promote agricultural economic development" - Mr. Huong shared.
Along with the capital problem, Mr. Huong also expressed his hope that the agricultural sector and Minister Le Minh Hoan would have a direction to forecast the planting and livestock sectors; product output must be signed with businesses, and agricultural products must be developed according to the value chain.
In addition, there is a policy to introduce and promote the brand of agricultural products that meet VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, have area codes and barcodes, and increase product value commensurate with the investment, effort and dedication of farmers.
