Attending the conference at the central bridge were leaders of ministries, departments, and branches along with more than 300 typical farmers representing 10.2 million members of the Farmers' Association nationwide. Speaking at the opening of the conference, Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union - Luong Quoc Doan said: The 2024 dialogue conference with farmers takes place at a meaningful and very important time, when our country is fully preparing for opportunities and favorable conditions to enter a new era, an era of national development. At the same time, it creates a basis for summarizing results, from which to make forecasts, assessments, and build policies and strategies for agricultural, farmer and rural development in the coming period.
In addition, the conference is also a practical basis to contribute to building the content of the draft political report document submitted to the 14th National Congress (term 2026-2031) of the Party on the issues of agriculture, farmers and rural areas.
Through 4 conferences, many issues related to mechanisms and policies to promote agricultural and rural development and promote the role of farmers have been directed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to be focused on by ministries and branches at the central and local levels, creating clear and positive changes.
At the conference, many questions from farmers were raised for direct dialogue with the Prime Minister. Among them, many major issues require unified decisions and policies from the Government and the Prime Minister, such as the need to perfect mechanisms, policies, and resources to support farmers in developing cooperatives and agricultural cooperatives; innovate the form of production and business organization according to the value chain and promote cooperation and close linkage between localities in each region and between regions, connecting global value chains; develop plans for raw material areas, concentrated and large-scale commodity production according to market standards and requirements for key national product groups; mechanisms and policies to move towards the Netzero target, implement the Project to develop 1 million hectares of high-quality rice, reduce emissions, develop carbon credits;...
With the spirit of frankness, democracy, responsibility and innovation, a number of issues were directly discussed and answered by the Prime Minister at the conference. A number of issues were directed by the Prime Minister and assigned to leaders of relevant ministries and branches to answer; solutions were developed according to a roadmap, ensuring effectiveness and sustainability.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the frankness, democracy and responsibility of the delegates who participated in the dialogue. The issues raised by the delegates were all practical and relevant to the current development of agriculture, farmers and rural areas.
The Prime Minister directed ministries, branches, and local authorities to promptly resolve difficulties and concerns of farmers, businesses, cooperatives, etc../.
