On the evening of June 9, at the Vietnam - Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, the National Assembly Office, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Television jointly organized the first National Press Award ceremony on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Award).
Party and State leaders and delegates attended the ceremony.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Head of the Steering Committee of the Award; Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, members of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Ministers, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Ministers, heads of branches; heads, deputy heads of National Assembly delegations of provinces and cities; authors, groups of authors winning the Dien Hong Award.
On the side of Thai Binh province, there were comrades: Ngo Dong Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Lai Van Hoan, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Huy, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and other provincial National Assembly deputies.
In his opening speech, Comrade Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam emphasized: After more than 4 months of launching, the first Dien Hong Award received 3,328 press works from 171 domestic and international press agencies, 7 Offices of National Assembly Delegations and People's Councils. The Judging Council selected 67 outstanding works to award the first Dien Hong Award, including: 5 A prizes, 13 B prizes, 16 C prizes, 31 consolation prizes; 2 prizes outside the structure, no special prize. In addition, the Organizing Committee of the Award selected and awarded certificates of merit from the Chief of the National Assembly Office to 20 collectives with outstanding achievements, making important contributions to the success of the first Dien Hong Award - 2023. The works selected for the Dien Hong Award were invested in carefully, scientifically, and of high quality, demonstrating both content and form, including works that are multi-part series, using modern propaganda forms. The content of the works vividly reflects the theme of the Dien Hong Award; many works closely followed the process of improving and innovating the organization and operation of the National Assembly and People's Councils, closely followed the breath of life, reflected the thoughts and aspirations of voters and people, proposed suggestions to improve the quality and effectiveness of the operations of elected bodies; highlighted the position and role of the National Assembly and People's Councils, focused on reflecting the activities of the National Assembly Delegation, National Assembly deputies, People's Councils and People's Council deputies, having a strong influence on society and the public. He congratulated the Organizing Committee of the first Dien Hong Award; the press agencies, authors, and groups of authors who won the award. He hoped that the award would continue to receive support from the domestic and foreign press system writing about the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Party and State leaders, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, leaders of central and local departments, ministries and branches presented awards to authors and groups of authors who won the Dien Hong Prize and units that made positive contributions to the success of the Prize.

The group of authors Nguyen Hinh, Thu Hien, Viet Hung, and Pham Thuy of Thai Binh Newspaper won the consolation prize with a two-part series: "Digital" People's Council.

At the award ceremony, the second Dien Hong Award was launched, accordingly the second Dien Hong Award ceremony will be held in early January 2024, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2024).
