Regarding the two metro lines, Mr. Vu Hong Truong - General Director of Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd. said: Since its operation (November 6, 2021) up to now, Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro (Hanoi's first railway line) has transported more than 28.1 million passengers.
On average, on weekdays (Monday to Friday), there are about 40,000 - 44,000 people traveling by Cat Linh train. Notably, about 80 - 85% of passengers traveling by Cat Linh - Ha Dong train use monthly tickets.
"The government has a policy of subsidizing public transport to attract people to use it, especially during rush hours to avoid congestion. Businesses are trying to maximize their capacity to reduce subsidies. The goal is to have as many people use public transport as possible, especially during rush hours," said Mr. Truong, adding that the Cat Linh - Ha Dong route alone has more than 12,000 monthly ticket users.
