On November 22, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the recruitment of candidates for the 2024 agreement scholarship program in Hungary.
Accordingly, the Hungarian government will grant up to 200 scholarships for Vietnamese citizens to study in the country, at the undergraduate (bachelor), master's (OTM), master's (MA/MSc) and doctoral levels.
The scholarship covers training and research costs, health insurance, accommodation and living expenses according to Hungarian regulations.
Of these, 90 undergraduate scholarships (3-4 years) and 55 master's scholarships (1.5-2 years) are available in Agricultural Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Computer Science and Information Technology, Economic Sciences, Engineering, Health, Natural Sciences, Sports, Arts, and Teacher Training.
25 scholarships for master's degree programs from university (5-6 years) in the fields of Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, Medicine and Health Sciences, and Arts.
At the doctoral level (4 years), the number of scholarships is 30, considered depending on the needs of the locality, the agency sending the candidate to study or the field of study in which the candidate has previously graduated.
The Ministry of Education and Training said it accepts both paper and online applications. The registration deadlines are January 12 and 15, 2024, respectively.
Candidates for university or master's scholarships must be first-year university students; or 12th grade students, winners of excellent student competitions at provincial level or higher, national science and technology awards, or members of international Olympic teams.
For master's and doctoral scholarships, candidates need to have graduated from university or master's with good grades or higher; priority is given to working at agencies and organizations that have cooperative relations with Hungary or have studied in Hungary.
Regarding foreign languages, applicants applying for Hungarian language courses must have a B2 Hungarian language certificate and basic English proficiency. If they do not have a certificate, they can study a language preparatory course in Hungary for one year. For English language courses, applicants must have a valid IELTS certificate of 5.5 or higher or equivalent, or have graduated from an English language training program abroad at the previous level.
