More than 3,500 candidates skipped the high school graduation exam in Literature, 11 of whom violated exam regulations, according to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training.
The Ministry of Education and Training announced at noon on June 28 that nationwide, more than 1,012,000 candidates registered to take the Literature exam. The number of candidates who took the exam this morning was more than 1,008,500, accounting for 99.65%.
There were 11 candidates who violated the exam regulations. However, the Ministry did not inform the extent of their violations. According to the regulations, candidates will have their scores deducted by 25-50% or their entire high school graduation exam results canceled, depending on the severity.
The Literature exam took place from 7:35 to 9:35 this morning. According to the Ministry's assessment, the exam was basically safe, serious, and in accordance with regulations.
The most notable incident was the suspicion that the Literature exam questions were leaked only about 25 minutes after they were distributed. The Ministry of Education and Training said it had asked the Internal Political Security Department (A03), Ministry of Public Security, to verify.
"The above information does not affect the exam because the interaction is only with one candidate," said a representative of the Ministry. Up to this point, the Ministry of Education and Training has not recorded any information about solving questions or instructions on solving questions from outside the exam room.
The exam steering committee recommends that councils strengthen measures to prevent high-tech equipment to minimize the possibility of cheating in exam rooms and strictly manage exam papers according to regulations.
The high school graduation exam took place on June 28-29 with more than one million candidates. Of these, more than 943,300 candidates used the results to both consider graduation recognition and apply to universities and colleges.
After the Literature exam, this afternoon, candidates will continue with the Math exam for 90 minutes. Tomorrow, candidates will take one of two combined exams: Natural Science or Social Science in the morning, and Foreign Language in the afternoon.
