On September 25, information from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that the People's Committee's leaders had approved the adjustment of metro project No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien), with the construction completion time until the end of the 6th quarter of 2024. The People's Committee assigns the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board (investor) to take full responsibility before the law for the content, accuracy and honesty of the information, data reported and documents submitted.
At the same time, organize the implementation of metro line 1 project in accordance with legal regulations, ensuring quality, efficiency, construction completion time and commercial operation of the entire line within the approved time.
The investor is also required to develop a detailed plan to carry out the remaining work according to the set schedule. There must be a commitment to bind the responsibilities of the parties, sanctions, identify potential risks and proactively take measures to resolve difficulties and problems.
In particular, control the cost of metro line 1 project to avoid additional costs due to adjustments to the implementation time. In case of additional costs, the investor and related units will have a solution according to the provisions of law.

For contractors who have complaints, city leaders require investors to be proactive and have appropriate conciliation solutions or handling measures to avoid prolonging the time and affecting the project completion progress.
The investor is fully responsible before the City People's Committee and competent authorities in case the project continues to be delayed.
Up to now, the entire metro line 1 project has completed over 98.5% of the contract volume.
Specifically, the CPla package (underground section from Ben Thanh station to City Theater station) reached 100%; the CP1b package (underground section from City Theater station to Ba Son station) reached 99.96%; the CP2 package (elevated section and depot) reached 99.58%; the CP3 package (purchase of electromechanical equipment, locomotives, rails and maintenance), reached 96.67%.
For the CP4 package (information technology system for the O&M Company Office), the investor signed the contract on April 19; the system safety certification consulting package, the investor signed the contract on September 22, 2023, is being implemented according to the contract; the O&M Company office construction package is being constructed by the contractor.
Currently, the investor is still determined to complete the project on schedule, and put metro line 1 into commercial operation in the fourth quarter of 2024.
