The book “Dien Bien Phu - Moments from History” is printed on high-quality paper with the size of 24 x 25 cm. Through nearly 200 photos that have been carefully collected, filtered and selected, the book shows moments from the inside, from many perspectives of those who directly participated in or witnessed one of the most famous battles, which had the greatest influence on global events in the 20th century.

The book is divided into four parts in a chronological order. The Roads to Dien Bien Phu provides viewers with visual materials about the context, the underlying and direct causes of the formation of the Dien Bien “fire pan”. Dien Bien Phu: “The Unplanned Poisonous Boil” helps provide an overview of the formation of a “porcupine in the Northwest mountains and forests” from late 1953 to early March 1954. Firestorm provides a direct look at the 56 fierce days and nights, which is also the process in which the “porcupine” transformed from a “Viet Minh meat grinder” plot into a “hell on earth” of the expeditionary army. Earthquake shows the consequences and events that took place after May 7, 1954.

Each page of the book contains historical and highly symbolic pictures of the event. In addition, there is documentary information to help readers grasp information about the general context and the specific time when the "historic moment" actually took place.
The book was born after many years of painstakingly collecting documents and compiling, with the efforts of historical, international relations and media researchers such as: Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Chi Trung; Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thuan; Journalist Dang Bao Trung; Journalist Bui Xuan An; Young designer Nguyen Hoang Khoi... Along with the advice and assistance of many experts such as: late Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh; Professor, People's Teacher Vu Duong Ninh; Senior Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan; Lieutenant General Vu Chien Thang; Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh; Dr. Le Kien Thanh; Colonel Dao Chi Cong; Writer Binh Ca... and many international scholars.
Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Chi Trung, editor of the book, said: “Moments from history have undeniable power because authenticity and objectivity are the inherent nature of photography. The book does not aim to explain history. The book proves that history has happened and that history is truly great.
