(HNMO) - At around 11:05 a.m. on June 8, at The Garaden Shopping Center, Pham Hung - Duong Dinh Nghe intersection, a column of black smoke appeared from a high floor, causing panic among residents. Traffic in the entire area was almost at a standstill as curious residents stood and filmed each column of smoke rising.
Upon receiving the report, the Hanoi City Police Command Center determined the location of the incident at The Manor Hanoi Urban Area, Me Tri Street, My Dinh 1, Nam Tu Liem District (Hanoi) and mobilized forces to perform the task.
However, when the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police, Nam Tu Liem District Police arrived, the incident was handled. Initial information showed that at that time the building was operating a generator. Due to not being used for a long time, the accumulated exhaust smoke from the generator rose high through the windows, causing people to mistake it for a large fire. The incident was not caused by a fire or explosion.
Immediately upon receiving the information, fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue units were ordered to withdraw their vehicles to stand guard on site.
