Packaging company in Hai Duong fined 152 million VND for discharging waste into the environment

On October 11, information from the People's Committee of Hai Duong province said that Mr. Luu Van Ban, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of this province, signed a decision to administratively fine Packco Vietnam Packaging Company Limited (located at Cao An Industrial Cluster, Lai Cach Town, Cam Giang District) with an amount of 152 million VND for violating environmental discharge regulations.

Previously, on August 23, the inspection team of Cam Giang District Police inspected the collection and treatment of wastewater of Packco Vietnam Packaging Company Limited. The team took wastewater samples from the company's northern ditch discharged into the environment for analysis and testing.

The results showed that there were 3 common environmental parameters exceeding the permissible standards: Coliform exceeded 2,200 times, TSS exceeded 18 times, BOD5 (200C) exceeded 8.5 times according to QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT (level B).

In addition to the main penalty, the company is also required to take measures to remedy environmental pollution according to regulations and report the results of remedying the consequences of the violation within 3 months.
