Guard during Tet holidays

At the moment when heaven and earth are transitioning between the old year and the new year, every family gathers together to raise a glass to celebrate a prosperous new year, while on distant islands, officers and soldiers on the islands of Truong Sa archipelago are still diligently guarding, raising their guns high to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Officers and soldiers on the islands of Truong Sa archipelago are always tirelessly on guard, holding their guns high to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Following Lieutenant Colonel Pham Sy Thoai, Commander of Sinh Ton Island, we had the opportunity to visit and wish the officers and soldiers on night guard duty a happy new year. While walking, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Sy Thoai shared that the armed forces have their own characteristics compared to other branches, which is to ensure the number of soldiers on duty during Tet. Wherever the troops are stationed, day or night, there must be guards. This is no exception for naval soldiers.

At night on the island, the watchtowers still stand silently high. Each watchtower and tower on the island usually has 2 soldiers. During the time of performing the mission, the soldiers must strictly follow the regulations and principles set forth by the unit.

In the dark night, the Truong Sa soldiers held their guns firmly on their shoulders, their eyes bright and determined, watching every wave in the distance. With sturdy figures in neat naval uniforms, the naval soldiers stood silently at the guard post within the island's embankment, protecting the peace at the head of the waves. They stood there, proud and steadfast so that the people on the mainland could welcome the New Year's Eve and the Tet holiday in peace, tranquility and happiness.

Sinh Ton Island Command went down to the guard tower to visit and wish a happy new year to the soldiers on guard duty on New Year's Eve.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Sy Thoai said that when on duty at night on a remote island, especially during the days before Tet, it is inevitable to miss home, relatives, friends, and hometown. Therefore, the unit always has timely activities to care for and encourage officers and soldiers to carry out their duties on Tet duty. Accordingly, every time the New Year's Eve approaches, he and his comrades in the island command will go down to the watchtower and watchtower to encourage and wish the officers and soldiers on duty a happy new year. In addition to the instructions and assignment of tasks, the island command also gives many words of encouragement and warm New Year wishes to the officers and soldiers on duty on New Year's Eve.

With the motto "Helping the people is a combat mission in peacetime, an order from the soldier's heart", "When the people need, when the people are in trouble, there are navy soldiers", the program "Vietnam Navy is a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea" and mass mobilization activities in the stationed area have been effectively implemented by Naval Region 4.

In recent years, the situation in the East Sea has undergone new, extremely complex and unpredictable developments, with the potential for conflict. Foreign countries have increased their activities in the field to assert unreasonable sovereignty claims, often sending ships and boats to operate illegally. At times, they have seriously violated our sovereignty and sovereign rights, preventing our exploration and exploitation of oil and gas and our legitimate economic activities at sea.
