On July 31, informing Nguoi Dua Tin , a representative of the People's Committee of Vung Tau city (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) said that the Chairman of the People's Committee of the city has signed and issued decisions on compulsory land recovery and compulsory demolition of land and assets on land for enterprises in the area of 28 hectares of land along Thuy Van street, Bai Sau beach, Vung Tau.
The reason for the above decisions is that these enterprises did not hand over the premises or move assets on the land to carry out the Thuy Van street renovation project.
Thuy Van Street, adjacent to the front of Bai Sau Vung Tau beach, where land is being forcibly reclaimed to carry out an improvement project.
Specifically, the People's Committee of Vung Tau City will forcibly reclaim land on an area of more than 38,800 m2 leased by the Prime Minister to Ba Ria - Vung Tau Construction and Installation Company (now VRC Real Estate and Investment Joint Stock Company) since 1996.
At the same time, apply compulsory measures to force the dismantling and relocation of assets located on this land currently used by Vung Tau International Tourism Joint Stock Company and Hai Duong International Tourism Joint Stock Company.
The land of the enterprise was forced by the People's Committee of Vung Tau city to dismantle and relocate assets on the land.
According to the representative of Vung Tau City People's Committee, during the process of land acquisition to implement the project of upgrading Thuy Van Street, 7/9 businesses with business establishments on the 28ha area of the project have voluntarily relocated their assets. Only the above 2 businesses have not agreed.
Vung Tau city authorities have dismantled a number of construction works on the land to serve the renovation project.
Previously, on July 29, the People's Committee of Vung Tau city held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Thuy Van street renovation project, with a total investment of nearly 1,200 billion VND from the provincial budget.
This project includes 12 main construction items with highlights such as: central square on the ground, pedestrian bridge, sea restaurants, green park. Of which, the 2 main items are upgrading the technical infrastructure of Thuy Van street and building Thuy Van park, with a total investment of more than 1,000 billion VND.
Accordingly, Thuy Van road will have its median strip renovated, the rainwater and wastewater drainage system upgraded, and suitable trees replaced.
The Thuy Van Park project will be implemented on a total area of over 19.2 hectares, including renovating the existing park area from Phan Chu Trinh Street to the Tourist Management and Support Center (building A3) with an area of about 2.15 hectares. Along with that, a new park of over 17 hectares will be built from the San Ho Xanh tourist area to Nguyen An Ninh Street with culinary, festival and experience spaces.

On Thuy Van street, there are also 5 planned pedestrian tunnel locations.
The project is expected to complete procedures to start construction in August and be completed on April 30, 2025.
