Ham Can highland stabilizes security and order

In recent times, the Ham Can Commune Police, Ham Thuan Nam District, has proactively advised local authorities and Party committees on many solutions to ensure security and order, so the security and order situation in the commune is stable, ensuring local socio-economic development.

Captain Tran Thanh Truc - Head of Ham Can Commune Police said that Ham Can is a mountainous commune, with 73% of the population being ethnic minorities, mainly Rai ethnic people, with uneven educational levels. The area has potential security and order issues, especially political security related to bad guys inciting people to sabotage the great national unity bloc.

The commune police have advised the local Party Committee and government to ensure security and order in the area; reviewed and consolidated mass organizations participating in ensuring security and order at the grassroots level; advised the Steering Committee for Crime Prevention and Control and built the movement of All People Protecting National Security.

Since the beginning of the year, Ham Can Commune Police have handled 11 cases of public order violations, including 1 case of rape of a person under 16 years old, the rest of which were theft, drunkenness causing disorder, illegal drug use, intentional injury... Filed administrative fines against 5 subjects with a total amount of more than 20 million VND, transferred to the District Police to investigate 4-8 subjects.

Regarding drug prevention, control and combat, the Commune Police identified it as one of the key tasks, proactively advised the Commune People's Committee to develop a plan to strengthen measures to grasp the situation, manage the area and subjects. Along with that, measures are deployed to grasp the situation of loan sharking and illegal credit. Coordinate with departments, branches and mass organizations of the commune to promote propaganda about the crime of loan sharking and illegal credit, in order to raise the vigilance of cadres and people.

Thanks to that, security and order in Ham Can are always guaranteed, Mr. Nguyen Van Sang - Head of Village 2 did not hesitate to share, since the regular police came to the commune, security and order in the area are much more secure than before. Because the police are always present in the area, coordinating with the village chief to grasp the situation. As soon as they hear reports from the people about any incident, they come to handle it immediately, so there are almost no major problems in the locality, the people are very secure. Previously, around June, there was a situation where outsiders came to the locality to incite people to write petitions to reclaim land (related to forestry land)... Up to now, thanks to the analysis of the entire political system of the commune, focusing on the police, people have realized that listening to the instigation of others is not a good idea, Mr. Sang added.

Therefore, Ham Can, like many other highland communes in the province, is always stable in terms of security and order. However, the commune security force still regularly stays close to the area to monitor the situation in residential areas, where there is always a potential risk of insecurity. Because bad guys often take advantage of ethnic and religious issues, inciting people to destroy the great national unity bloc.
