Vu Thi Anh Thu is the number 1 seed in the women's singles tournament. The badminton player from Ho Chi Minh City had 2 wins to reach the quarterfinals of the women's singles. However, in the decisive match in the quarterfinals against opponent Shreya Lele (India), Anh Thu unfortunately lost 1-2 (18/21, 21/10, 19/21). Stopping in the quarterfinals, Anh Thu missed the opportunity to enter the final to compete for the championship.

In the men's singles, Nguyen Hai Dang is ranked second seed while Le Duc Phat is the first seed. Ho Chi Minh City tennis player Nguyen Hai Dang defeated German No. 5 seed Matthias Kicklitz with a 2-0 victory (21/16, 21/19) in the quarterfinals. In the semi-finals, Hai Dang competed with unseeded Indian player Samarveer but let his opponent come back and regrettably lost 1-2 (21/17, 18/21, 19/21). Losing in the semi-finals, Hai Dang will have a joint third place in the men's singles.

In another result, No. 1 seed Le Duc Phat played well to overcome his Indian opponent Aditya Gupta with a quick 2-0 victory (August 21, September 21) in the semi-finals. The victory helped Duc Phat enter the final to compete for the championship with Samarveer. The final match of the events will take place on August 31 local time after which the tournament will close. Le Duc Phat is the first player out of 16 who attended the 2024 Paris Olympics (France) of Vietnamese sports to return to the international arena to compete professionally since returning from the Olympics.

Vietnamese badminton only registered 3 players to participate in the International Challenge 2024 in Nigeria this time.
