In 2023, with the determination and efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of all walks of life, the socio-economic situation of Vu Quang district (Ha Tinh) continues to be stable and develop.

According to the report, out of 28 socio-economic targets set by the Party Executive Committee and the People's Council of Vu Quang district in 2023, 20 targets were achieved and exceeded the plan.
In particular, the main indicators are: the production value of economic sectors in 2023 is estimated to reach more than 3,500 billion VND, an increase of 1.62% over the same period. Agricultural, forestry and fishery production remains stable, with some sectors achieving quite comprehensive results.
Total grain output reached 15,422 tons (118.63% of the plan, equal to 110.15% compared to 2022). Average income per capita is estimated at 50.32 million VND/person/year (an increase of 3.35 million VND compared to 2022).
Regarding the construction of new rural areas, Vu Quang basically achieved 1 more criterion for an advanced new rural district (security, order - public administration), the remaining criteria increased the standard level by 10 - 15%.

For the group of communes registered to build model new rural areas (Duc Linh and An Phu), localities continue to focus on implementation. In addition, localities in the district also focus on renovating model residential areas, cultural house grounds, planting green fences, shade trees, building wastewater treatment pits... On average, the planning framework in localities reaches 85 - 90% compared to the annual plan.
The locality has focused on land accumulation in Duc Lien commune with 67.29 hectares; to date, the leveling has been completed and lots have been drawn for people to receive land in time for spring crop production in 2024.
Activities in the cultural and social fields have seen positive changes; social security and welfare policies have been ensured; national defense and security have been maintained. Party building and the political system have continued to be strengthened; the activities of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations have seen many innovations and are increasingly effective.
At the conference, delegates actively discussed and contributed ideas to the preparation for the 9th Session of the 5th District People's Council; draft resolutions on socio-economic development tasks in 2024.
Delegates also focused on clarifying the limitations in 2023 regarding some targets that have not yet met the plan, at the same time, proposing solutions to overcome them and specific targets and tasks in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Vu Quang District Party Committee Nguyen Thi Viet Ha requested localities and units to continue promoting the achieved results; focus on overcoming outstanding and incomplete issues, especially unachieved socio-economic targets to promptly remedy and complete them as soon as possible. At the same time, urgently review and develop socio-economic development plans suitable for each unit and locality in the new year 2024.
Promote restructuring of the agricultural sector, associated with rural economic development; build new rural areas and civilized urban areas in an ecological direction. Focus on land accumulation according to Resolution 06-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee; promote the development of forest areas meeting FSC standards.
Continue to take care of social security work; strengthen the work of ensuring political security, social order and safety; maintain border security.
