The People's Committee of Long Khanh City (Dong Nai) said that regarding the food poisoning incident after eating bread that occurred in Long Khanh City, causing 568 people to be hospitalized for examination and treatment, the People's Committee of Long Khanh City has transferred the case to the police investigation agency to verify and clarify.

According to the People's Committee of Long Khanh City, the total number of people hospitalized for examination and treatment related to the suspected poisoning incident at B. bakery (Xuan Binh ward, Long Khanh city) is 568 cases, 300 cases are being treated, 11 cases have been transferred to other hospitals, 138 cases have been discharged, and 119 cases have been prescribed medicine.
After receiving the information, the Long Khanh City People's Committee directed the relevant departments to inspect and verify. During the inspection and work, it was noted that the above bakery served about 1,000 sandwiches/day without a business license at the above address and without a certificate of food safety eligibility. There were 4 people working directly there without a certificate of food safety training and without a health certificate.
However, according to regulations, it is necessary to wait for the test results of the Ho Chi Minh City Public Health Institute to prove the act of "selling food causing food poisoning" of the owner of the above business establishment. Mr. Tang Quoc Lap - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Khanh City said that among the more than 560 poisoning cases above, there were very serious cases of children. This incident had particularly serious consequences occurring in the area, therefore, based on the provisions of the Penal Code and the Law on Handling of Administrative Violations, the People's Committee of Long Khanh City has transferred the initial verification records of the above business establishment to the investigation police agency - Long Khanh City Police to investigate and clarify according to the provisions of law.
Previously, as reported by VNA, from the evening of May 1, Long Khanh Regional General Hospital (Dong Nai) began receiving and treating many victims suspected of food poisoning after eating bread at B. Bread establishment (Xuan Binh ward, Long Khanh city).
The Medical Center and Long Khanh City Health Department have conducted an inspection; requested the facility to temporarily suspend operations until the authorities have a conclusion, and at the same time coordinated to find the cause of the incident.
