Dr. Tran Quang Hoa said that the Tremplin Prize of the French Academy of Sciences was awarded to a group of research works written together with French colleagues. The award organizers evaluated the entire process of exchange, cooperation, and published scientific products along with projects planned for future development.

According to Dr. Tran Quang Hoa, research cooperation between France and Vietnam was formed and developed decades ago, in all fields, especially mathematics with many generations of Vietnamese scientists studying and working in France. Many have become famous, such as Professor Ngo Bao Chau. Vietnam is also one of the countries that receives a lot of funding in training and scientific research from the French government.

"I feel very honored, proud and lucky that the cooperation project in the field of mathematics between me and Professor Marc Chardin received this award. The award has affirmed the effective research cooperation in the field of mathematics between France and Vietnam in general, and between the staff of the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Education - Hue University in particular. The award is a great encouragement and creates opportunities for research cooperation and exchange between experts in France and colleagues in Hue", Dr. Tran Quang Hoa shared.

Dr. Tran Quang Hoa's thesis deals with theoretical mathematics in the field of commutative algebra, with applications in algebraic geometry. The research object of the project is the singular properties and invariants of rational mappings, a tool used to describe geometric objects used to model objects such as cars, airplanes, graphic characters in cartoons or applications in 3D printing technology.

Students of the Faculty of Mathematics, Hue University of Education, presented flowers to congratulate Dr. Tran Quang Hoa.

The research process began in 2014, when Dr. Tran Quang Hoa went to France to do research at the University of Paris 6. Under the guidance of Professor Marc Chardin, Dr. Tran Quang Hoa had 3 articles published in prestigious mathematics journals.

Up to now, Dr. Tran Quang Hoa is still continuing to work with Professor Marc Chardin and a group of French experts, Professor Ngo Viet Trung, Professor Le Tuan Hoa at the Vietnam Institute of Mathematics and lecturers of the school's Mathematics Department to carry out collaborative research projects.

The "Launch pad for bilateral research cooperation with ASEAN countries" award was presented by the French Academy of Sciences to honor bilateral research cooperation projects between France and 7 Southeast Asian countries (Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia) in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, biotechnology, life sciences, engineering sciences, health sciences, space sciences, social sciences and humanities, information and communication industry sciences, etc.

The award aims to honor, recognize and facilitate the development of bilateral cooperation projects in scientific research between France and ASEAN countries.

Every year, the French Academy of Sciences awards about 80 prizes of all kinds with prize money of up to 1 million euros in all fields of science. This year, the French Academy of Sciences awarded 6 prizes for the Tremplin Prize, of which Vietnam won 2 prizes.

Dr. Tran Quang Hoa is honored to be one of two Vietnamese people to receive the award this time (along with Dr. Hoang Thi Giang, Vietnam Agricultural Genetics Institute), and is the only person from Southeast Asia to receive the award in the field of mathematics.
