Vietnam and Laos promote cooperation in training, fostering officials and scientific research

At the meeting, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang and comrade Associate Professor Phouvong Ounkhamsane, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Director of the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, had a very practical and effective meeting, exchanging in-depth opinions on issues of mutual interest.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang sent his congratulations to the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration as the host agency, coordinating with the Lao National Institute of Economic and Social Sciences, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to successfully organize the 2024 Quadrilateral Workshop with the theme: "Lessons learned from 40 years of innovation and development in Laos and Vietnam".

He said that the workshop had gathered the participation of many Vietnamese and Lao scientists, and was a forum for discussion, debate, and in-depth and objective assessment of issues of mutual concern to explore and discover solutions to improve the effectiveness of training and fostering of leaders, managers, scientific research and policy consulting in the two countries. He also highly appreciated the signing of the Cooperation Agreement for the 2024-2028 period between the two Academies as a basis for the cooperation plan between the two Academies in the coming time.

To carry out cooperation activities in training, fostering cadres, scientific research, and policy consulting in the coming time, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that Comrade Phouvong Ounkhamsane pay attention to and further promote cooperation between the two sides in training, fostering cadres and scientific research; and in the Project to build the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration in the southern region in Champasak province.

He also suggested that the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration closely coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to prepare for the 2025 Quadrilateral Workshop chaired by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics with the theme: "Building an independent and self-reliant economy - Experience of Vietnam and Laos", scheduled to be held in June 2025 in Da Nang city.
