Vietnam won 6 medals and certificates of merit at the 2024 International Mathematical Olympiad

Despite certain difficulties in both the exam questions and the health of some candidates participating in the International Mathematical Olympiad, the Vietnamese student delegation achieved good results and was highly appreciated.

Three Vietnamese students win gold medals at the 2024 International Biology Olympiad

On July 20, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the official results of the Vietnamese national team competing in the 2024 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in the UK. 6/6 students won medals and certificates of merit, including 2 silver medals, 3 bronze medals and 1 certificate of merit.

The two students who won silver medals were: Tran Duy, grade 12, High School for Gifted Students - Hanoi National University of Education; Tran Minh Hoang, grade 11, Ha Tinh High School for Gifted Students, Ha Tinh province.

The three students who won bronze medals were: Pham Tran Minh Duc, grade 12, Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong city; Nguyen Dang Dung, grade 11, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences (University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Nguyen Van Hoang, grade 12, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh province.

Ta Duc Anh, grade 12, High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education, received a certificate of merit.

The 65th International Mathematical Olympiad was held from July 11-22 in the United Kingdom with a total of 609 contestants from 109 countries and territories. The contestants went through 2 official exam days with a duration of 4.5 hours/day.

According to the regulations, the Organizing Committee will award official prizes to 50% of the participating contestants. In addition, the Organizing Committee will award certificates of merit to students who achieve the maximum score on 1 problem.

This year's exam has a challenging structure for participating students when there are 2 combination problems, 1 at an average level and 1 at a difficult level.

The closing ceremony and award ceremony of the 2024 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) will be held on July 21 in the UK.

Vietnam excelled in winning three gold medals at the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad

On July 25, the Ministry of Education and Training announced that 4/4 Vietnamese students participating in the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad won medals, including 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal.

With the topic "Application of nanotechnology to manufacture ZnO particles to remove CO gas in mines", the team of Hon Gai High School, Quang Ninh province, excellently won the Gold medal and Special Prize at the Korea International Science Olympiad (KiYO 4I) 2023.
