The above information was commented by many delegates at the 2023 Congress of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) being held in Brussels, Belgium.

The 2023 International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) Congress with the theme: Logistics in the context of climate change, gathered more than 1,000 delegates from 80 countries. This year, the congress content addressed the challenges, innovations and latest development trends of the logistics industry in adapting to climate change and the changing global business environment.

The Vietnamese delegation attending this congress includes 20 delegates who are leaders of the Vietnam Logistics Services Association (VLA) and leaders of large international logistics enterprises in Vietnam.

According to the conference document, Mr. Stéphane Graber, Director General of FIATA, commented that after COVID-19, certain activities are being reallocated to Asia and one of the destinations for logistics activities is Vietnam. As more and more manufacturing activities are carried out in Vietnam, Vietnam has many opportunities to develop the logistics industry.

"In addition, Vietnam not only benefits but also has the advantage of having all modes of transport: road - air - sea - rail and waterway to develop into a logistics center of the region and the world," Mr. Stéphane shared.

The FIATA representative emphasized that Vietnam is applying best practices in logistics development, and has a real need for internal development, expertise and training. FIATA will work closely with the Vietnam Logistics Business Association to enhance logistics training.

Mr. Dang Vu Thanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Logistics Service Enterprises Association, shared: "We hope that Vietnamese logistics enterprises will have access to new trends and have solutions to adapt to climate change and the current business environment. This is also an opportunity for enterprises to exchange, connect and cooperate to develop suitable fields."

Notably, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations decided to choose Vietnam as the country to host the congress in 2025.

Therefore, Mr. Dang Vu Thanh hopes that the event will attract global logistics enterprises, creating conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to exchange and connect, learn from each other, and increase cooperation opportunities. Thereby contributing to promoting the development, digitalization, and greening of the logistics industry in Vietnam, helping our country become a major center for logistics and sustainable development.

The 2025 Congress of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations will take place in Vietnam

FIATA Director General Stéphane Graber said that he had just made a survey trip to Hanoi last July to prepare for the congress taking place in 2025. Also on this occasion, FIATA President Ivan Petrov and Mr. Stéphane Graber met and had a working session with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

The Prime Minister hopes that Vietnam's relationship with FIATA will become increasingly tight and effective. He stressed that Vietnam needs to cooperate with FIATA to consult on the mechanism for developing Vietnamese logistics, "following the lead" to keep up with the times and the general trend of the world.

The important thing is to help reduce costs, create low prices for products, and increase competitiveness in the international market. Join hands with Vietnam in human resource training, organizational management, technology development...

The Prime Minister also asked FIATA leaders to pay attention, support and closely coordinate with Vietnamese agencies to successfully organize the congress in 2025.
