In the 400m race for the T12 disabled category (without a guide), Pham Nguyen Khanh Minh finished second with a time of 50.17 seconds, only 0.18 seconds behind the first medal winner, athlete Moradi Mehrdad (Iran).
This is also Pham Nguyen Khanh Minh's best achievement of the year on this track.
Tisuwan Kissanapong won the bronze medal in this event with a time of 50.49 seconds. This is also the best result to date for the Thai runner.
Pham Nguyen Khanh Minh's silver medal is the first medal of the Vietnamese disabled athletics team at the 2023 Asian Para Games, and the 9th silver medal of the Vietnamese delegation at this congress.
Previously, the chess team brought home five medals, the swimming team had two medals and the weightlifting team contributed one medal.
On October 28, in addition to athletics, Vietnamese athletes continued to compete in chess with the determination to achieve high results for the "color and honor" of the Fatherland.
