(Dan Tri) - More than 100 artists from Ho Chi Minh City participated in the journey to the source "Dien Bien Phu - Epic of the Century" to celebrate major holidays and important historical events of the city and the country.
Following the direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee organized a journey back to the source for the city's artists this year with the theme "Dien Bien Phu - The heroic epic of the century".
This is a program implemented to celebrate major holidays and important historical events of the city and the country: The 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024); the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), towards the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation Day and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

This year's journey to the source of "Dien Bien Phu - Epic of the Century" has the participation of 100 delegates who are veteran artists; outstanding artists of the city's literature and art associations; outstanding and outstanding artists of art units under the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; artists who have made many contributions to promoting and preserving national culture; artists who actively participate in the city's political and social programs, serving compatriots and soldiers in remote areas, border areas, and islands; artists who are outstanding citizens of the city and young artists who actively participate in social work, serving the community...
The journey to the source aims to educate the political and ideological forces, widely propagate among the artists about the significance, stature and great historical value of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; affirm the correct and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh and the spirit of great national unity as the decisive factor in the victory of the resistance war against the French colonialists.
The journey back to the source will inspire artists to continue to compose and perform works of ideological and artistic value, especially literary and artistic works aimed at celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; continue to contribute to the development of literature and art in the city.
The program also helps young artists better understand the value of peace, independence, freedom and arouse patriotism, sense of responsibility, and will to preserve the sovereignty of the homeland; gather and create a source of political core artists to propagate and implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.
This year's Journey to the Source takes place from November 26 to November 30, with meaningful activities such as: Incense offering ceremony for heroic martyrs at Dien Bien Cemetery, visiting the special national historical site of Dien Bien Phu Battlefield (Dien Bien province); organizing gift giving to support students and people in difficult circumstances in Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces...
