Over 100 artists from Ho Chi Minh City return to their roots.

Over 100 artists and writers participated in the 2024 journey to the roots with the theme " Dien Bien Phu - An epic of the century".

On November 21st, the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee organized a meeting before the trip to the historical sites of over 100 artists participating in the 2024 "Dien Bien Phu - An Epic of the Century" journey.

This is a practical activity to celebrate major holidays and important historical events of Ho Chi Minh City and the country, leading up to the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The program aims to help young artists better understand the value of peace, independence, and freedom, and to awaken patriotism, a sense of responsibility, and the will to preserve the territorial sovereignty of the homeland; to gather and create a core group of artists with political significance to serve propaganda work.

Over 100 artists from various fields – traditional musical instruments, hat boi (classical opera), cai luong (reformed opera), spoken drama, don ca tai tu (traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music), dance, etc. – are featured, including prominent names such as: People's Artist Ho Van Thanh, People's Artist Ha The Dung, Meritorious Artist Le Thien, Meritorious Artist Phi Dieu, Meritorious Artist Cong Hau, Meritorious Artist Le Dien, author Tran Van Hung, Meritorious Artist Lam Tuyen, Trong Nghia, Le Tu, Ha Nhu, Nguyen Van Khoi, author Pham Van Dang, MC Quynh Hoa...

The "Journey to the Roots" took place from November 26th to 30th in the provinces of Dien Bien, Lao Cai , and Yen Bai, with many meaningful social activities such as providing gifts to support people affected by Typhoon Yagi in Bao Yen district (Lao Cai) and Tran Yen district (Yen Bai); giving gifts to people in difficult circumstances in border areas and soldiers... The total cost of implementation was nearly 750 million VND.
