Within the framework of the Human Resources - Technology Conference (TalentX) 2023 with the theme 'Enhancing talent with the power of Technology and Management', which was recently organized by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) on November 15, experts all agreed that human resources issues in the digital age are being focused on by businesses more than ever.
Employee Centric philosophies and strategies are being built and applied more and more widely with the help of technology solutions.
For example, in terms of recruitment, according to LinkedIn research, 66% of HR managers and recruiters positively evaluated the effectiveness of AI-applied HRTech.
Discussing at the conference, experts also shared that modern human resource management solutions do not only stop at measuring KPIs, efficiency, and productivity of employees, optimizing performance, but also help build programs to increase employee work experience, and design training programs, develop people, and develop career paths in a suitable and personalized way for each employee.
Even based on aggregated data from work, social relationships in real and virtual environments..., there are businesses that are applying AI technology to help early detect employees who are not/ are not satisfied (or have negative emotions), employees who are having problems at work, employees who are working ineffectively...
This helps the HR department take early action to correct the problem, to come up with more effective programs/policies to help retain employees.
The issue of training and retraining for corporate staff in the context of job requirements and demands in the digital age is also raised.
Citing the World Economic Forum's research on the labor ratio between machines and humans in 2022 being 34% - 66%, and forecasting that this ratio will be 43% - 57% in 2027, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Customer Relations Director, Udemy Business in Vietnam, commented that artificial intelligence, especially generative AI , is accelerating the shift in the labor ratio between humans and machines.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, the World Economic Forum also predicts that about 44% of workers' core skills are expected to change in the next 5 years.
In that context, the human resource development strategy of many businesses is still to invest in training and learning to retrain for jobs as well as continue to accelerate digital transformation.
This trend is partly reflected in data from 64 million individual learners globally, over 220,000 courses, and over 15,000 businesses using the Udemy learning platform.
According to statistics, in terms of technology, besides the widely learned skills such as programming languages such as Python, Java and Microsoft and AWS certifications, the Udemy platform also records the rapid growth of courses on new skills.
Notably, data from the global learning platform Udemy shows that recently, in terms of both business and technology, the three most studied courses are ChatGPT, Java, and sales skills.
“In Vietnam, popular courses are still web, programming, and IT certificates, which account for the majority. The average study time on Udemy for a Vietnamese person is about 7-8 hours/month, higher than the current global average of 4.9 hours/month,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien added.
Commenting that AI and generative AI will create strong changes in human resource structure as well as human resource management activities, Mr. Phan Ho Ha Phuong, Head of AI Solutions Department of FPT Smart Cloud analyzed: This creates both opportunities and challenges for workers.
Technology helps automate and simplify repetitive tasks, allowing business staff to spend more time on higher value tasks.
On the other hand, under pressure to continuously improve and enhance capacity, a survey shows that over 90% of employees want businesses to have smart, continuous training methods.
Of which, 90% of businesses believe that switching to mobile training brings higher benefits and efficiency.
In that context, FPT Smart Cloud has researched and launched the FPT AI Mentor solution specifically for corporate training activities.
