High technology application to produce products from organic brown rice

Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Linh (Deputy General Director of DBFOOD Company, Phuc Yen City, Vinh Phuc Province) has invested in thorough research, creating a product line from organic brown rice with high nutritional content "made in Vietnam", supporting health care for everyone, especially cancer and diabetes patients.

"The day my mother-in-law received the news that she had cancer when she had just turned 58 was a big shock to the family, but it was also the motivation for us to research a product line to support nutritional supplements for my mother and cancer patients in general to recover their health. During the treatment process, the radiation burned away the beneficial intestinal bacteria, making it difficult for my mother to eat. Feeling sorry for my mother, I researched and found that brown rice was a benign product. I tried boiling it into porridge to get water for my mother to drink. But brown rice alone was not enough to provide nutrients, so I came up with the idea of ​​combining brown rice with other nutritious grains," Thuy Linh recalled the idea of ​​starting her startup project.

This idea was supported by her father-in-law. As a passionate researcher, he tried it out himself many times, then sought out nutritionists and connected with a French professor and some Vietnamese rice experts to learn how to separate the oil and combine the seeds so that they inhibit each other to produce natural preservatives, without the need for additional flavors or additives.

After dozens of experiments, Thuy Linh and her father created the first complete product, brown rice milk combined with nuts with high nutritional content. This milk was used by her mother-in-law, was effective and many other patients also wanted to use it. Therefore, Hoang Thi Thuy Linh's family decided to apply high technology to production and invest in thorough research to produce an exclusive brown rice milk production formula, creating a product line with high nutritional content, supporting health care for everyone, especially cancer and diabetes patients.

The product is a combination of exclusive organic brown rice production technology and nano extraction technology of precious Vietnamese medicinal active ingredients.

Affirming the value of Vietnamese products

In 2019, DBFOOD Food Joint Stock Company was established. With the first product line being milk powder, milk using traditional Vietnamese ingredients such as organic brown rice, macadamia nuts, sachi, walnuts, cashews, almonds... along with some precious medicinal herbs such as cordyceps, golden flower tea, lily flowers, moringa leaves...

The product combines exclusive organic brown rice production technology and nano-extraction technology of precious medicinal active ingredients. Organic brown rice milk does not use preservatives or flavorings but also uses standard input materials, contributing to the preservation and promotion of native resources of Vinh Phuc province.

From the idea to the process of product formation and development, Ms. Thuy Linh said that DBFOOD has gone through many ups and downs and failures, but she is still determined to choose the path of a technology enterprise that produces and researches to create its own exclusive production technology. The company is launching 3 main product lines: organic brown rice milk powder for all ages; organic brown rice milk powder combined with nano precious medicinal compounds such as Cucumin, golden flower tea, green banana resistant starch, spirulina; Organic brown rice tea combines brown rice tea with lily flowers, Cordyceps, and Moringa leaves.

The product has proven its effectiveness, bringing prestige to the business and opening up many opportunities for cooperation and access to larger markets. In the first 6 months of 2024, DBFOOD's growth rate has achieved impressive numbers: revenue increased by 65%; customer base increased by 80% compared to the same period in 2023. From the initial small production workshop, up to now, the company has put into use an 850m2 factory that meets ISO 22000 - 2018 standards.
