"All (the targets) are enterprises of the military-industrial complex. This is the difference that distinguishes us from the Russians," Ukrainian military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov said in a rare public appearance at a meeting in Kyiv on September 9, according to AFP.

Romania summons Russian diplomat over UAV debris

The Agerpres news agency reported today, September 10, that the Romanian Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian charge d'affaires after discovering on Romanian soil new fragments of UAVs similar to those used by the Russian military, according to Reuters.

On September 9, Romanian authorities found the second UAV wreckage to crash in the NATO member country in a week, amid accusations of Russia attacking Ukrainian river ports, just a few hundred meters from the Romanian border.

"The Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bucharest was urgently summoned on Saturday (9.9) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," the Romanian Foreign Ministry said in a statement sent to Agerpres.

Also on September 9, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis stated that the discovery of UAV debris showed that the violation of Romanian airspace was unacceptable.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Russian attacks near the border were “destabilizing” even though there was no indication that Russia intended to attack Romania, according to Reuters.

Since refusing to extend a Black Sea grain export deal in July, Russia has been accused of repeatedly attacking Ukrainian ports along the Danube River border with Romania.

Ukraine is one of the world's largest grain exporters and Romania's Black Sea port of Constanta is now Kyiv's largest alternative export route, with grain transported by road, rail or barge across the Danube, according to Reuters.
