Implementing the working minutes between EVN and the People's Committee of Thai Binh province on March 18, 2021, in recent years, the investment in construction of 110kV power grid projects and medium and low voltage power grid projects has basically met the requirements for electricity supply to serve socio-economic development and people's daily life. Implementing the integration into the provincial planning of power source and grid projects approved in the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII), the province is preparing to deploy the investment project of Thai Binh LNG thermal power plant with a capacity of 1,500 MW to be implemented in the period 2021 - 2030 and the Tien Hai wind power plant project phase 1 with a capacity of 40 MW in Nam Phu commune, Tien Hai district; at the same time, it is proposing to include in the implementation plan of Power Plan VIII the onshore and offshore wind power projects of Thai Binh province, the waste-to-energy treatment plant project and the rooftop solar power project. To ensure stable, safe and sufficient power supply for loads in the province, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province, after the provincial planning is approved, Thai Binh province proposed that the electricity sector allocate capital to invest in the construction and renovation of a number of power grid projects in the area.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Hong Phuong, Deputy General Director of EVN expressed his hope that Thai Binh province would continue to pay attention to directing the implementation of site clearance to accelerate the progress of power projects in the area; accompany and share difficulties with the electricity industry, especially the local power shortage that has occurred in the northern provinces in recent times. Along with appreciating the power transmission in the province, the Provincial Party Secretary also pointed out the limitations in the development of the power supply network, especially some lines that still do not have a loop plan, especially in some industrial parks and industrial clusters under construction and operation. He hoped that the electricity sector would study and calculate carefully to have a specific plan; speed up the progress of new investment, renovation and upgrading of some key power grid projects; study and support the province in developing renewable energy and clean energy projects. The Provincial Party Secretary also requested each provincial department and branch to consider EVN's investment as a special investment, thereby creating favorable conditions for projects to be implemented on schedule; carefully study projects related to the electricity sector to advise and promptly supplement the provincial planning. At the same time, he requested EVN, based on the VIII Electricity Plan, to promptly allocate resources and invest in items and projects included in the planning; pay attention to sudden development needs in terms of electricity capacity to have appropriate allocation plans; and build a 220kV grid system.
