At the beginning of the training session on the afternoon of August 25, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan mainly let his players warm up lightly and play games to have the most comfortable spirit. The strategist from Khanh Hoa asked the players to put aside non-professional matters to have the highest concentration for the final match.

At the 32nd SEA Games held in Cambodia in May, U22 Indonesia defeated U22 Vietnam in the semi-finals with a score of 3-2. However, coach Hoang Anh Tuan said that the final match of the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 tournament is completely different from the semi-finals of the 32nd SEA Games. He said: "The story is not just about tactics. Sometimes things on and off the field affect the match. The coach is the key to the match. Vietnamese fans always support us, always behind to support U23 Vietnam."
