After two extensions, the National Highway 1 bypass through Ca Mau City, costing more than VND1,700 billion, has reached about 99% of its volume and is expected to be completed at the end of this month.
On November 9, more than 100m of the final section of the route was handed over to the construction unit after many months of delays. Dozens of workers and many machines are working hard to ensure progress.

According to the investor, Project Management Board 7, the items on the route have been basically completed, the traffic safety system has been installed, and is being adjusted, painted, and lettered, and is expected to be completed before November 25. As for the 150m section of the final intersection, the locality has just handed over the site, and the construction unit is speeding up the progress.
"The Board is completing procedures to hand over the project for use before November 31," said Mr. Dang Van Dung, Director of the National Highway 1 bypass project (under Project Management Board 7).
The bypass is 14.3 km long, 12 m wide, and has a speed of 80 km/h. The route starts at Ward 6, Ca Mau City, and ends at Luong The Tran Commune, Cai Nuoc District. The total investment cost is over VND1,700 billion, of which the construction cost is over VND1,200 billion.
The project started in December 2021 and was expected to be completed by the end of 2022. After that, due to difficulties with finance, land, materials, and weather, the route was adjusted to the end of the third quarter of this year, but could not be implemented due to land issues.
