Vietnam women's team makes remarkable progress, German Football Federation wishes the team success at World Cup 2023

On June 26, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan visited and worked with President of the German Football Federation (DFB) Bernd Neuendorf.

At the meeting with senior leaders of the DFB, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan, on behalf of the Standing Executive Committee, thanked DFB President Bernd Neuendorf for supporting and facilitating the Vietnamese women's team to train in Germany, especially organizing the friendly match between the German women's team and the Vietnamese women's team on June 24.

The match attracted the attention and support of a large number of fans from the host country and the Vietnamese community living and working in Germany, and contributed significantly to the preparation of both teams for the 2023 Women's World Cup.

DFB President Bernd Neuendorf said he was impressed by the remarkable progress of the Vietnamese women's team and wished coach Mai Duc Chung and his team good results in their first participation in the world arena.

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan also thanked the DFB for paying special attention to the development of Vietnamese football through exchange programs at the national team and club levels.

It is known that the DFB is aiming to co-host the 2027 Women's World Cup with Belgium and the Netherlands. VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan expressed his confidence that with the experience of organizing major tournaments and the facilities of the world's leading developed football, Germany fully meets the standards to become a co-host of the most attractive tournament on the planet for women's football.

The Vietnamese women's team has been training in Europe since early June. Most of this time, the team has been training in Germany.

We played 3 friendly matches against Frankfurt (won 2-1), Schott Mainz (won 2-0) and the German women's team (lost 1-2). In addition, the Vietnamese women's team traveled to Poland for a few days to participate in a friendly match against the Polish U23 team (lost 1-2).

As expected, the Vietnamese women's team will arrive at Noi Bai airport at noon on June 27, ending their 3-week training trip.

In the coming time, coach Mai Duc Chung's team will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. On July 5, the whole team will leave for New Zealand for a 10-day training session and participate in two friendly matches with New Zealand and Spain.

The Vietnamese women's team will play their debut match at the 2023 Women's World Cup against the United States on July 22. This will be followed by matches against Portugal (July 27) and the Netherlands (August 1).
